Dewey
Just before receiving my pay, i asked God: How do You think i should i spend my month’s pay?
G: Only spend it on clothes, necessities (food, toiletries), and on other people
A: But..but i actually planned on buying another plant…You know right..i wanted to have an additional herb/flower plant ? :(
G: you heard me Aurelia, clothes, necessities, other people…
A: it doesn’t cost that much to buy another plant You know…
G: ……..
A: it would be a miracle if someone buys me a plant if i don’t buy it myself…
G: you don’t believe that I can provide new plants for you without you buying them?
A: maybe i’m talking to myself…
Had the urge and opportunity to actually buy a new plant a few days later, but i remembered the previous conversation i had with Him…
A: ok, i think that conversation I had with You was not made up…i choose to obey and trust that somehow someway, a plant will be provided without me buying it
silence (or was it a smile?)
Then a few more days passed and i totally forgot about buying any plants…until my roommate shouted to me when i got home from church “guess what Aurelia?!…you will be very happy when you see what is in the kitchen!” (coz she knows how i am kinda obsessed with my first african violets)
“har? what is that…?”
and there she brings out 2 anthurium flower plants..no…3 anthurium flower plants
T/B actually bought 3 pots for each one of us in the house after he went to a seminar on horticulture..so now, instead of an additional plant..there are 3 more…
God, You are so funny… :) And now, whenever i water my plants, i remember this story, i remember how You are my Provider, how my security lies in You, how i must learn to trust and obey, to follow Your ways, even in bleak moments.
5th Sept (wednesday) was when i got my paycheck, which was the day for MLWM when P had a picture of a purple flowers with dew on green grass. I interpreted it as how God would take even more care of me than how i would care for my african violets. (coz i water them 2X a day despite the aunty at the nursery telling me to water it once every 3 days :P…yeah, so paranoid i know). 8 Sept (saturday) was the day we were given 3 anthurium plants.
And i have decided to call my african violet plant Dewey :)
